Job Description:
- Manage the end-to-end data migration process within the BMC Helix environment, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and security of data during the transition.
- Develop, customize, and optimize BMC ARS workflows, ensuring they align with business needs and operational requirements.
- Perform data mapping, transformation, and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes for BMC Helix migrations, while addressing and resolving data discrepancies.
- Design and implement comprehensive migration strategies, including setting timelines, allocating resources, and assessing risks, to minimize disruptions during migrations.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including clients, project managers, and technical teams, ensuring alignment on project goals and smooth execution.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during migration processes, ensuring timely and effective solutions.
- Apply your knowledge of BMC Remedy ITSM modules (Incident, Change, Problem, Asset Management) to integrate migration strategies with broader ITSM processes and business workflows.
Qualifications:
- Strong hands-on experience with BMC Helix, including data migration, ARS workflows, and ITSM modules.
- Proficiency in data mapping, ETL processes, and data transformation.
- Ability to design, implement, and troubleshoot ARS workflows to meet complex business requirements.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale data migration projects, ensuring minimal disruption during transitions.
- Experience with BMC Remedy ITSM modules, including Incident, Change, Problem, and Asset Management.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex migration and development issues.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of other BMC tools and solutions.
- Experience in project management, including resource allocation and risk assessment.
- Ability to adapt to evolving technology and business needs.
Day in the Life of a BMC Helix Data Manager
As a BMC Helix Data Manager at IZT, your day begins with strategizing and planning, as you review migration project priorities and coordinate with your team. You’ll engage with clients to understand their unique data migration needs, focusing on data mapping and alignment with BMC Helix requirements. Mid-morning, you dive into ARS (Action Request System) development, customizing workflows to optimize efficiency within the Helix platform. The afternoon is dedicated to data migration execution, where you run ETL scripts and conduct rigorous testing to ensure data integrity and functionality. Later, you troubleshoot ARS workflows, perform quality assurance, and update stakeholders on project progress, keeping clients informed and aligned on expectations. You end the day documenting processes and outlining the next steps, ensuring that each migration project moves forward seamlessly. This role combines technical skill with client-centered problem solving, making every day dynamic and impactful in transforming data landscapes.
